The BSE Sensex reached its peak of 86,000 points in November 2025. The BSE Nifty 50 reached its peak of 26,358 on 5th January 2026. Then because of the war between Iran and the United States both the indices dropped in March 2026. The Nifty 50 dropped 11.36% to a low of 22,331 and the BSE Sensex dropped 16.5% to a low of 71,947.
From these lows the market gradually picked up momentum after the ceasefire and recovered by 10% to reach a high of 24,600 for the Nifty and 79,000 of the Sensex.
Because of the ongoing blockade of Iranian ships by the US Navy, Iran has also barred the ships of other countries from crossing the Strait of Hormuz. This has created a panic situation in the global Oil and Gas markets and oil prices have increased dramatically in spite of the prevalent ceasefire. There doesn’t seem to be a way out of this crisis for the whole world which has to pay more for oil and gas to meet their domestic requirements. By products of the Oil and Gas industry like plastic, urea etc are also in short supply and their prices too have increased dramatically.
Looking at the relationship between Iran on one hand and the United States and Israel on the other hand, the Western alliance had got plenty of opportunities from Iran to resolve their differences about Iran’s nuclear program in the past. An agreement was also reached between President Obama and Iran before President Trump came to power in 2016 and cancelled the agreement.
It seems to me that the whimsical President to protect himself in the light of the Epstein files and the despicable Prime Minister of Israel who has the blood of millions of Palestinians, Lebanese and other West Asian communities on his clothes are holding the world hostage because of their vested interests. Also if the United States can have nuclear weapons, Israel can have nuclear weapons than why is it wrong on the part of Iran to acquire nuclear weapons?
It’s not that I am a big fan of the Iranian regime. I don’t think they have been very nice to their own people. But the main reason for the woes of the Iranian regime and the people of Iran is the forty seven years of isolation and sanctions which brought them to their knees and created the public protests in January 2026. Israel and the United States tried to use this opportunity to create more pressure on the Iranian regime and replace them. But Iran has been preparing for this moment for the last two decades, ever since the execution of Saddam Hussein in Iraq.
But the illicit practice of Western nations, especially the United States, of overthrowing governments of other countries which are not favourable to them is not new. They have been doing this since the end of World war 2. Just like all good things come to an end, bad things also come with an expiry date. History is witness to several empires thriving at their peaks and then going into oblivion. The Greeks, the Mongols, the Moghuls, the Romans, the British and several other empires are just a fraction of what they once used to be. As far as I see the days of the American people are numbered and within a couple of decades they will be where Europe is today. Old and decaying. Karma always pays back.
